  1. If you’re looking for a sunscreen that’s water resistant, choose one that is water resistant for up to 40 or 80 minutes.

  2. Choose sunscreens that are labeled Broad Spectrum, which means the sunscreen is FDA-certified to protect your body against ultra violet rays.

  3. Reapply sunscreen every two hours, whether you’ve been swimming or not.

  4. In many areas, the sun is at it’s strongest from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. If possible, avoid the sun during these hours.

  5. Cover your entire body with sunscreen, including ears, eyelids, lips, nose, hands, feet, and the top of your head.

  6. Wear a sunhat with a wide brim.

  7. Protect your eyes by wearing sunglasses.

  8. If possible, limit the amount of time spent in the sun.

  9. Make sure you’re using enough sunscreen, as many people apply to little.

  10. Choose the best SPF sunscreen for your needs. SPF 15 protects against 95% UVB rays, while SPF 30 protects against 97%.
